A United Airlines flight was canceled Sunday morning after the plane burst into flames on the runway in Houston , Texas . No injuries or deaths were reported from the incident, but the fire did delay the flight, which was meant to depart for New York shortly after 8:35 AM on Sunday.

The flight was rescheduled hours later, with George Bush Intercontinental Airport in Houston organizing transportation for the affected passengers. The fire was blamed on a reported engine issue, with no word yet on what may have caused the plane to burst into flames. A United Airlines flight departing from George Bush Intercontinental Airport in Houston, Texas, was grounded after flames began shooting out from the aircraft’s wing. Fox26 Houston reported the takeoff of flight 1382 was aborted after flames began to come out from under the aircraft’s wing.

While not all news reports specified when the fire began, one passenger stated that the plane was lifting off the runway when a sound wasBased on a video that Fox26 obtained from inside the aircraft, passengers were flustered, but kept mostly calm as flight attendants requested that they remain seated and await further instruction. Passengers inside the plane were heard saying things like “No, it’s on fire” and “Please, please, please get us out of here.”Based on the video footage, the flames appeared to come from the aircraft’s right wing, with one video shot by someone sitting slightly behind the wing. Dark smoke can be seen billowing out from under the wing, as well as some intermittent dark orange flames.

Passengers appeared to, for the most part, take heed of flight attendants’ requests to remain seated, though many were attempting to look out the window to see what was happening.

The video continued to show the aftermath of the plane’s evacuation, with people standing on the tarmac outside the plane while awaiting transportation and further instructions.

Fox26 noted that the Houston Fire Department was not required to put out any fire at the airport, thus it appears the plane’s engine fire stopped on its own.
