Niagara Falls Family Seeks Justice for Woman Killed in Crash

There is very little Jayvonna Jordan recalls about a crash on the Fourth of July at Hyde Park Boulevard.

“I was in the car with my best friend and her life was slipping away from me,” said Jordan. “My hip is fractured.” One month later, still walking with a limp, Jordan paced outside of the Niagara Falls Police Department to call for justice for 27-year-old Precious Cox.

“No justice, no peace!,” protestors repeated.

The car Precious was riding in crossed Porter Road, hit a pole then crashed into a house. Cox was taken the hospital where she later died.

Cox was one of four passengers in the car. Her mother Jacqueline Roache says her death was senseless.

“The driver was drunk, crazy, high, and killed my daughter,” said Jacqueline Roache.

It’s been a month since that crash. Multiple vigils have been held and a memorial for Cox was set near the crash scene. They family says they want justice and the driver arrested. The family says they were told by Niagara Falls Police that investigators are still reviewing the case to ensure that if any charges brought forth, they will stick. 　

“They [police] said it takes time,” added Roache.

“She was going over the limit and speeding and we told her to stop,” adds Jordan.

To Roache the wheels of justice are spinning too slowly especially after her daughter’s life was cut short so quickly.Niagara Falls Family Seeks Justice for Woman Killed in Crash
