Niagara Falls resident charged with manslaughter
BUFFALO, N.Y. (WIVB) — A Niagara Falls resident has been charged with second-degree manslaughter and leaving the scene of a fatal motor vehicle incident without reporting, the Niagara County District Attorney’s Office said.
Antoine Bones, 39, is accused of causing the death of 50-year-old Yolanda Carr, also of Niagara Falls. Bones is accused of striking the victim on Aug. 5, 2024, and leaving the scene.
A Niagara Falls man has been charged with first-degree manslaughter following the death of a fellow program participant at a People Inc. facility in the Town of Tonawanda, New York.
Daniel J. Abbotoy, 26, was arraigned in State Supreme Court on May 5, 2025, after being indicted for allegedly causing serious physical injury to 56-year-old Diana Robinson of Amherst on April 1, 2025. Robinson succumbed to her injuries on April 15 at Erie County Medical Center (ECMC) .
Initially, Abbotoy faced a first-degree assault charge and was held without bail pending a forensic examination. The examination concluded that he is currently not competent to stand trial. Consequently, Justice Debra Givens signed a temporary order committing Abbotoy to the custody of the Office for People with Developmental Disabilities until he regains competency .
The case is scheduled for a status update on August 6, 2025.
In a separate incident, another Niagara Falls resident, 39-year-old Antoine Bones, has been indicted on charges of second-degree manslaughter and leaving the scene of a fatal motor vehicle incident.
