United Airlines flight with over 180 passengers onboard makes emergency landing
A United Airlines flight bound for Las Vegas was forced to return to Newark Liberty International Airport early Tuesday morning following a mechanical issue.
The aircraft, carrying 176 passengers and six crew members, made an emergency landing about an hour after takeoff.
Flight 1544 departed Newark just before 6 a.m. but was diverted back due to a possible mechanical problem, according to United Airlines.

The airline confirmed that the plane landed safely, and all passengers deplaned without incident. “The flight landed safely, and all passengers deplaned normally at the gate,” the statement added.To minimize disruptions, United arranged for a replacement aircraft to transport passengers to Las Vegas later that morning. “We have arranged for a different aircraft to take our customers to Las Vegas this morning,” the spokesperson said.
